Paul Naylor - 7:23 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Hey Mummy, did you ever kick a bag as a junior if so how many or did you ever take a big hanger? Does your ferocious tackling come from any other background other than AFL?
Wade - 6:55 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
G'day Mummy, well done to you and the team on Sunday. Q: is Ben McGlynn any chance to play? Good luck for Saturday night! Go Swans!
Sophie - 6:39 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
MUMMY! What has been your most enjoyable moment since joining the Sydney Swans? You have been such a joy to watch this season a new fav of mine all the best for the remainder of the year!

Hey there Mummy!
Good job on the weekend mate. The Swans are playing great and with the way you’re going, the Swans are a great competitor for the big one! Carlton was a tough one but if you keep up the intensity you can easily beat the Bulldogs again. Heaps of fans will be at the game cheering you on, so good luck.
Just wondering, we heard Jett’s top 10, what’s yours?
Piper - 5:41 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Mummy, stellar season! I was sceptical when you first arrived but as soon as you took the field you have been a powerhouse! Good luck for the rest of the year and looking forward to seeing you for many years to come! Keep it up dude!
Matthew - 5:11 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Hey Shane,
Who do you want to win the grand final if it’s not Sydney?
Danni Hall - 5:05 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Shane, how do you think you guys will go against ex-Swan Barry Hall? By the way, the game on the weekend had me on the edge of my seat; it was a great win! All the best against the Doggies!
Macca - 5:02 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Mummy, you are an absolute ripper. Thank you for the game you and all the boys played yesterday. We are all in awe of the way you have fitted in and adopted the bloods culture. We are very fortunate to have a ruckman of your calibre who gives his all while the ball is in the air and then fights for the ball like a mid-fielder when it hits the ground! Keep up the good work & Dare to Dream. Getting to & Winning the G/F might be a fairytale but would be a most fitting send off for Kirky & Roos! GO BLOODS!
Brian Rainbow - 4:54 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Shane,
What an absolute revelation you have been for us this year, the only position you haven't covered is full forward. Have a word to Roosy - we'd like to see you get amongst ‘em...
Jordan - 4:51 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
What kind of fitness training do you guys do when you are in offseason?
Heather Quinlan - 4:48 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Hi Shane - it’s great to see a ruckman knuckle down to some hard tackling and roving work, not just tapping the ball down. Has this part of your game come about with joining the Swans or is that just your (great) style?
Doug Eastwell - 4:09 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Hey Shane, love your work. I understand you share a house with Jetts (the serial pest - your words not mine), and was wondering how you rate his progress?
Julie - 3:50 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Hi Shane, great game on Sunday and thank you for becoming a Swan. You've so quickly become a crowd favourite, how are you enjoying life in Sydney as compared to Geelong and Bunyip?
Derek Fonnie - 3:36 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Hi Shane,
Jetts mentioned that you do more laps of the buffet table than anybody else in the team: is that true and is there something about Jetts we don't know that you would like to share?
Peter - 3:31 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Not too many blokes of your size have the ability to do what you can do - it’s great to watch! Was wondering how much you can bench press?
Michael - 3:25 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Hi Shane,
Congratulations on your form. I love the way you don't mind being on the bottom of a pack to rove your own ruck work. As you are aware most, if not all Swans supporters call you Mummy? What was your nickname at the Cats? Good luck for the game against the Dogs.
Monte - 3:09 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Mummy,
Firstly congratulations to yourself on a stellar season. You've excelled this year with your hard tackling and 2nd & 3rd efforts. My question is how much of your success this season has been spurred on by the disappointment of being dropped for last year's final series by Geelong? Also have you ever worn a GPS Tracker on game day? Best of luck to you and the boys for the coming weeks.
Chris - 2:56 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Hi Mummy,
You are a massive man. What would your average daily meal plan consist of, including supplements?
Frank - 2:54 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Hi Shane,
Do you enjoy the culture of the Swans & is it very different from the Cats?
Does the relative obscurity in Sydney take some of the pressure off?
Richard from South Melbourne - 2:43 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Mummy!
With the pending return of Mark Seaby next year, how do you think that will affect young Mike Pyke & his development as he's really stepped up in his supporting role this year? Also, after a dogged performance against Carlton, which had Bloods written all over it, do you think that with Kirky & Roosy's pending retirements, belief around the club is peaking just at the right time? PS: Keep up those hard hits!! We're starting to smell the fear in the opposition now!
Matt - 2:31 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Hi Shane,
You were at Geelong and now you have come to Sydney and are the number 1 ruckman. You have been described as the recruit of the year. Does the extra responsibility influence you to play better?
Aussietom - 1:46 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Steve Taubert seems to be a wonderful ruck coach as shown by the performances of Jason Ball and Darren Jolly before you arrived at the Swans. With your own improvement and the dramatic strides forward of Pykey can you advise us on how much of an influence he is to the Swans with stoppages etc.?
Gail Mitchell - 1:43 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Hi Shane, it was a heart stopper on Sunday, a gutsy win. Hope your knee holds out over the finals. Seeya Saturday night - go bloods. Gail
Steph - 1:35 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Shane - I love your work in the red and white. Was wondering what has most surprised you about the Sydney Swans since joining? Best wishes for the remainder of the finals. The red and white people are all proudly behind you so shake down the thunder!
Ken - 1:21 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Shane,
How did you rate the Carlton ruck men on Sunday? They seemed to be very big and capable.
David - 1:18 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Hi Shane,
Love your tackling and energy - what do you prefer - the hard tackles or good ruck taps? Good luck
Cindy - 1:08 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
It's been a pleasure watching the Swans this year, especially seeing some of the younger guard stepping up. I just wanted to know what your highlight has been this year, whether personal or in the context of the team. Well done on making the AA 40-man squad and good luck for the weekend. Hopefully this time we can win without the nail-biting finish. I don't know if my heart can take it anymore.
Timo - 1:01 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Hey Mummy, firstly I think you are the most improved player in the AFL and the Swans stoppages really help get the best out of you. If you could think of one thing to improve your game what would it be?
Chris - 1:01 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Shane, love the way you play and attack the footy, compared to your time at the Cats how have you found your new role at the Swans?
Steve Hendy - 12:59 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Hi Shane, keep up the good work mate! Are you as amazed as I am in the improvement of your ruck partner Pykey over the past few weeks? Can you combat Hudson and Minson together on Saturday night?
Justin - 12:50 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Shane,
Geelong made a mistake letting you go. That is the Swans' gain and I'm glad we have you. Keep up the intensity for the contest and play with that Bloods spirit and I'm sure you will give the Doggies a run for their money. All the best for Saturday.
Marilyn Ludski - 12:48 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
What a sensational game we enjoyed yesterday, heart palpitations and all, it was just great to be there. Is Paul Roos really as calm as he appears? Looking at his smiling face on the big screen while we were behind on the scoreboard, gave me the belief that somehow he knew the Swans would prevail. Whatever, it kept me calm.
Sean Mapleback - 12:44 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
G’day Mummy... how's the knee?
You are an absolute champion! In what ways and areas do you feel you have improved this year and how has it been to see the development of Kieren Jack first hand?
Greg Jones - 12:44 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Hi Shane,
Do you feel you've changed as a player since coming to Sydney and if so, how? (Keep up the great work!)
Eugene - 12:40 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
How did your knee pull up and will you be right for Saturday?
Danny Gholizadeh - 12:21 PM Monday, 6 September 2010
Hey Shane, I think you are the most improved player in the AFL - I love your second efforts. How are you preparing for the weekend's game against the Bulldogs and is your knee feeling alright? Thanks :)
