Swans co-captain Jarrad McVeigh was in fine form against Collingwood on Saturday night, picking up 17 disposals and kicking four goals as one of the teams’ best.
McVeigh scored a goal in each quarter, with his monster goal in the fourth quarter putting the Swans in front for the first time since the 22nd minute of the first quarter, and was duly adjudged SwansTV's Play of the Day for round 14.
Paul Bevan led up hard from centre half-forward, gathered a stray kick on the half volley and fired out a handpass to the overlapping McVeigh.
With the Swans down by points, McVeigh looked up and saw fellow co-captain Adam Goodes one out on the edge of the Swans goal square and launched the ball in his direction from 15 metres inside the centre square.
Goodes did extremely well to use his body to protect the ball from Collingwood’s Tyson Goldsack as it went over the top of the contest and dribbled through for a goal.
Two of McVeigh’s other goals for the game feature in SwansTV’s Handpicked Highlights for round 14, which can be viewed by clicking here.
