Ahead of Sydney’s Round 10 clash against Fremantle, Head of Physiotherapy and Medical Services Damian Raper provides the latest on the injury front with updates on Sam Naismith, Braeden Campbell, Errol Gulden, Lewis Melican and Ben Ronke.
ROUND NINE RECAP
Both the AFL and VFL teams managed to get through the game without any significant injury.
We also had Sam Naismith return, he played half the game in the VFL which was great to see. He did really well, got through the game without any issue and we will look to build his training minutes and game minutes back up over the next month.
BRAEDEN CAMPBELL
Braeden Campbell has a stress reaction in his right tibia. His recovery is going slowly with that, which is what we expect. Give him a couple of weeks to be pain free and then start him running again.
ERROL GULDEN
Errol had some soreness after our game against Geelong, in his second metatarsal in his left foot. He had an MRI for that which showed a very early stress reaction. He is going to have two weeks off running and then build back into football after the bye.
LEWIS MELICAN
Lewis is going well and there are no issues with his hamstring at all. He is going to continue his running and training this week and look to be available for selection next week, for our Carlton game.
BEN RONKE
Similar with Ben, no issues with him at the moment. He is in training, building up his training loads, getting lots of football exposure and we will look for him to play football against Carlton as well.
