THE SYDNEY Swans will receive a second-round compensation pick for the loss of unrestricted free agent Nick Malceski to Gold Coast.
The 30-year-old signed a three-year deal with the Suns on Monday night after an All Australian season.
Compensation is determined on the player's age and contract offer, which has resulted in the round two pick.
The Swans will be able to use it after their original second-round selection, or they can trade it.
The Swans currently hold picks 18 (Heeney), 38 (Hiscox), 39, 58, 76 (Davis), 94, 112 and 130 in next month's AFL Draft.
