Sydney Swans young gun Isaac Heeney has another accolade to add to his impressive year in 2016.
Heeney has been awarded the prestigious UTS Sports Man of the Year Award at the UTS Blues Sporting Awards of Excellence.
The 20-year-old, who commenced studying at Bachelor of Management degree at University of Technology Sydney this year, says he is honoured to receive the award.
“I’d like to thank UTS for this award as it’s such a prestigious award and I feel very humbled to receive it,” Heeney said.
“The academic staff have been an amazing help to me personally, giving me the flexibility to be able to study while travelling around Australia to compete with the Sydney Swans.
“While our football club had a successful year, the staff at UTS have helped me set myself up for personal success after football.”
Past winners of the award include cricketer Pat Cummins and Olympic water polo players James Clark and Gavin Woods.
