Get the latest on the injury front with Head of Physiotherapy and Medical Services Damian Raper, who provides an update on star midfielders Callum Mills and Josh Kennedy, and the most recent news on Nick Blakey and Logan McDonald.
Callum Mills
Generally across the game, everyone got through the game against Gold Coast relatively healthy, but unfortunately we had Callum Mills who was removed from the game in the third quarter. Callum missed the previous two weeks with an Achilles tendon pain - he trained really well last week and played but the nature of achilles injuries is stiff when people have breaks so he was quite sore after half-time.
He was removed from the game and this week we will try and get on top of Callum's pain and we will see how he goes in training, and our main training session this week.
Josh Kennedy
Josh's hamstring strain is going well as expected, we're hoping to see him continue with his progression as he has been doing some really good running over the weekend, and we're looking for him to get into some football training this week.
Nick Blakey
Nick has been really resilient throughout this process so far, he was seen by a couple of surgeons last week. He's now had surgery with an ankle specialist in Melbourne. We're waiting to see how the operation has gone and we will put a time frame on his recovery.
Logan McDonald
Logan suffered a cheekbone fracture in a VFL practice match, so he has been seen by some specialists while we let that fracture settle down. He's done some non-contact football and weights before we build him back into contact again.
