The Sydney Swans today announced the appointment of Belinda Rowe to its Board of Directors.
Belinda has held leadership roles in global companies in the marketing, communications, digital and media sectors, including with O2 Telefonica, Publicis Media, Zenith and Mojo.
Belinda is a non-executive director at ASX-listed companies HT&E Limited, Temple & Webster Group and 3P Learning Limited, as well as a director of Soprano Design. She also chairs the NSW Advisory Committee of SecondBite, a national food rescue organisation in Australia.
She is passionate about social and professional change, supporting and advocating for the development of women as a member of Chief Executive Women Australia, Women in Advertising and Communications London, Minerva Network supporting women in sport and Mentor Walks.
Chairman Andrew Pridham said he was delighted to have Belinda join the Sydney Swans Board.
“Belinda is a leader with global experience in some of the world’s largest marketing, communications and digital agencies,” Pridham said.
“She brings a wealth of experience and an important skillset to the board table.
“Belinda is a great advocate for women not just in sport, but in the corporate sector, and her input will be incredibly valuable as we embark on our AFLW journey,” he said.
Belinda replaces the outgoing Sam Mostyn, who has stepped down from her position after five years on the board.
“Sam has been a wonderful contributor to the Sydney Swans Board over the past five years and we thank her for all her hard work and guidance,” Andrew Pridham said.
“Sam has made a significant impact and been a key driver of the club’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
“We are delighted that despite stepping down from the board, that Sam will continue to provide support to our AFLW program, including being a member of our AFLW steering committee,” he said.
