Ahead of the giving season this year, the Sydney Swans, it’s players, staff and members have rallied behind the Addi Road #HampersofHope initiative.
While the festive season is a season of giving and receiving for some, there are a lot of people out there who are struggling.
Addi Road, Australia’s largest non-profit community centre, are a small team striving to do big things and their #HampersofHope initiative will be supporting those in need. They have been creating special one-off gift hampers to surprise people and families who have been doing it tough across the year.
Addi Road’s goal was to send out at least 1,000 special gift hampers this week (Monday December 13 – Friday December 17) and the Sydney Swans and it’s members have thrown their support behind the initiative.
The Sydney Swans have been a close part of the Addi Road family since last year when Kieren Jack and Nick Smith came to pack food hampers and make deliveries, and this year, Head of Player Wellbeing & Development – Brett Kirk is leading the way and getting the whole club involved.
Thanks to the support of Swans members who donated membership packs as well as over 1,000 caps to the hampers. Swans players and staff also donating gifts.
Addi Rd is a grassroots charity organisation that rescue food, fight hunger, and stand in solidarity with diverse communities in times of need.
