Instead of drafting the best football talent to the club for the upcoming season, Bolton is working hard to ensure the best membership talent is also on board.
The long-time supporter has already recruited eight new members to the Swans for the 2013 season, and has her sights set on adding many more before the opening round.
“I’m hoping to get to double digits,” Bolton said.
“So far I’ve got eight, so there isn’t far to go.
“I don’t really have a recruitment tactic but following this year’s awesome season everyone has been very keen to jump on board.”
Bolton’s efforts have put her in the running for the Sydney Swans Nominate Your Mate competition, which rewards members for recruiting new members to the club.
The Nominate Your Mate winner is rewarded with an all-expenses paid trip to the 2013 AFL Grand Final, while the top three recruiters receive tickets to the prestigious Sydney Swans Club Champion Dinner.
While Bolton admitted the club’s incentives to sign-up new members were ‘awesome’, she said her motivation is about growing her Swans network.
“I’m really just happy to have great company throughout the season. The more friends that are supporters the better,” she said.
“Spending time on a winter’s afternoon with friends tucking into a pie and a glass of red wine whilst watching an amazing game of football is pretty appealing to everyone, right?”
“It’s great to feel a part of the Swans family and to have something to look forward at the end of each week.”
Last season’s Nominate Your Mate winner, Chuck Kavalec, recruited a lofty total of 33 members, and was rewarded with a trip to Melbourne to watch the Swans claim their fifth ever premiership in September this year.
