Here's the key quotes from coach John Longmire as he spoke to media ahead of next Monday's Anzac Day game against Hawthorn in Launceston.
On Hawthorn's form and the rivalry:
They were fantastic (yesterday against Geelong), they are playing a really strong brand of football at the moment both offensively and defensively, they have plenty of confidence and run and will be a formidable opponent next week.
In terms of the rivalry we have had some big matches against Hawthorn which have gone down to the final few minutes of the game. We are both going through different stages of our lists and we have some good young players coming through so we are really looking forward to the contest.
On Tom Papley and Lance Franklin:
Tom Papley trained today, he did the whole session and did some extra conditioning, he pulled up really well and trained really well. We expect him to have another session on Friday, he won't be playing on Monday at this stage, because we want to get another week of training under his belt. He will hopefully play next week and that's the plan. We are pleased with what he did today.
We are not sure with Lance (as to playing on Monday), we will see how the week progresses, we will make that decision when we have all the information in front of us. His finger is getting better all the time but we will make that call later in the week and let that pan out.
On playing on Anzac Day:
It's a real privilege to be able to play on these special occasions . The pre-game is a moment of reflection and the reason why you play and understanding that. I think that it is important to be passed on from generation to generation, and not to be taken for granted and to remind our playing group of the privileges we get to play football on this special day.
On the win over West Coast:
We are still striving for consistency as individuals and as a team. The good thing coming out of last week's game was that we had a good contribution from everyone which was a positive. We dropped off a little in the third quarter but were able to finish strongly. The challenges keep coming, Hawthorn are up and about and beat a really experienced team yesterday.
On Isaac Heeney:
We have always known Isaac is a quality player who works really hard on his game. When you have that combination, you are generally going to play well most weeks. He's been terrible hampered by injury the last few years. Even when he has been available he has been injured and he has been able to play through it and is very mentally strong. He has had a good preseason this year and so far, touch wood, his body is feeling really good. We know he works really hard at his game and is a tough player who runs hard both ways. Hopefully the form he has been in so far continues because he makes such a difference to our team.
