Goodes named All Australian
Adam Goodes has been rewarded for an outstanding season with selection in the All Australian team...
Sydney Swans co-captain Adam Goodes has been named in the forward pocket of the 2011 AFL All Australian team.
This is the fourth time Goodes has been selected in the All Australian team (2003, 2006, 2009 and 2011).
Speaking on stage after accepting his honour, Goodes said he was excited about the prospect of adding to his current tally of 300 games with the list the Swans are building.
“If it means I get to run around with Sam Reid and Luke Parker and the players who are coming through that would be great,” Goodes said.
Goodes played all of the Swans 24 games in 2011, and averaged 21 disposals, six marks and just under two goals per game. He also finished as the Swans leading goalkicker (41) and mark taker (144) for the year.
Goodes was the only player from the Swans to make the All Australian team.
