The Sydney Swans will go from tackling the competition's new comers, to tackline the reigning premiers, after progressing into the second round of the NAB Cup and setting up a meeting with Collingwood at Etihad Stadium, Melbourne, on Friday night, February 25 at 7.40pm.

The Swans were one of two ‘wildcard’ teams - decided on percentage - to progress to the second round of the pre season competition, along with the winners of the six pool-matches.

After playing a round-robin style format on Saturday night at Blacktown Olympic Park, this Friday night’s match will revert back to a traditional format, with two teams playing over four quarters.

Coach John Longmire said the Swans were likely to welcome back senior players Ryan O’Keefe and Heath Grundy for the clash against the Pies.

The quick turnaround will require a reshuffle of the week’s schedule, with the team to have just one major training hit out, on Wednesday morning.

On Saturday night at Blacktown Olympic Park, the Swans scored a big win over a young GWS Giants side, before going down to the Gold Coast Suns in nail-biting finish.
