Sam Wicks and Corey Warner face off, the pair growing mullets this September for Black Dog Institute.

This September, the Sydney Swans are once again getting behind Black Dog Institute's Mullets for Mental Health.

With suicide as the leading cause of death in Australians aged 18-24, Swans players Sam Wicks, Corey Warner and Braeden Campbell are all growing their locks this month in the name of mental health research.

1 in 5 people will experience symptoms of mental illness in any given year. In Australia that’s around 5 million people. And roughly 65% of these people won’t seek help.

Black Dog Institute is celebrating 20 years of impact in mental health research. Over that time, they have expanded from treating and researching mood disorders to becoming leaders in suicide prevention, digital mental health, workplace mental health, new treatments, and early intervention to help young people.

Black Dog Institute is the only medical research institute in Australia to investigate mental health across the lifespan. Black Dog Institute is driven to support that 65% of the community who would not ordinarily seek help and we do that through Science, Compassion and Action.

Mullets for Mental Health is one of Black Dog Institute's major fundraisers for the year. Please donate and support the Swans players growing their mullets and empower everyone in Australia to look after their mental health. Donate HERE.
