MCG
The Sydney Swans will face Geelong in the 2022 Toyota AFL Grand Final on Saturday, September 24, 2022 and there has been one change to the side with Hayden McLean coming into the side in place of Logan McDonald.
INS: Hayden McLean
OUTS: Logan McDonald (omitted)
"It's tough for Logan. It's tough to go out of the team at any time but particularly for a Grand Final," said John Longmire.
"We just felt with Hayden McLean coming into the team this week, that was the specifics we from him so we made the decision.
"Justin McInerney and Sam Reid got through it pretty well so we expect them to be ready to play on Saturday.
Longmire says the Swans will be looking forward to an in-form Geelong side.
"They finished two games clear at the end of the home and away season and had a great win last week, so they are clearly a very strong team," Longmire said.
"They have been fantastic this year but we look forward to that challenge.
"It is a big game and we just have to make sure we back in what we do."
With under 48 hours to go until Saturday's clash, Longmire had one last parting piece of advice for his side.
"Just believe in what you do, the system. It's about turning up and about execution on game day," Longmire said.
"Don't use your energy up too early, save your energy for game day and turn up and do what you do."
Jake Lloyd will play his 200th AFL game.
