It was a hive of activity and an afternoon of fun as the Sydney Swans hosted an extra special Junior Clinic for over 100 Red Rookie and Junior Members at Lakeside Oval on Wednesday afternoon.
Celebrating our first Junior Clinic in several years due to the pandemic, Red Rookie and Junior Members met Sydney Swans AFL players and learnt skills and drills from some of the best AFL coaches in NSW.
As a benefit of being a member, the participants were also allowed to bring a friend to take part in the special afternoon.
The afternoon was extra heartwarming for the Sydney Swans players, who haven’t been able to participate in such events with the club’s junior members for some time.
“It was a great afternoon, especially for this time of the year where the footy season hasn’t started. It’s really good to see the young members come out and support us,” said Will Hayward.
“It’s always good to see them get into the footy spirit, and we’re looking forward to seeing our members next year.”
“It was really good to see so many young members who have already renewed their membership for 2023. We really hope to see a lot of them at our games next year,” added James Rowbottom.
