It has been 10 years since the first fan-voted 22Under22 team was announced at the 2013 MVP Awards. Coinciding with this milestone and the AFL Players’ Association 50th anniversary, AFLPA has opened voting for the 22Under22 Team of the Decade.

All previously selected 22Under22 players are eligible, with fans invited to create the ultimate team. Seven current Sydney Swans players have been nominated for the honour including Isaac Heeney, Callum Mills, Chad Warner, Luke Parker, Nick Blakey, Tom McCartin and Tom Papley.

Heeney was selected in two of his four eligible years while playing with the Swans following a breakout performance in 2015. Warner, who is just 21 years-of-age, was named in the team last year and McCartin etched his named in the history books the year prior after an impressive season.

Former Sydney players Ben Ronke and Dan Hannebery are also eligible.

Voting is now open and will close at midnight on Wednesday, 1 March. The Team of the Decade will be announced on Thursday, 9 March via social media. Stay tuned.

In addition, the fan whose team is best matched to the final team will win a 22Under22 Team of the Decade jumper and a $250 Prezzee voucher, thanks to AFLPA partner Snaffle.
