Did you know that Down syndrome is the most common genetic condition in the world? Approximately 290 babies are born with Down syndrome in Australia each year when three of chromosome 21 are developed during pregnancy - instead of two.

World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) is held on March 21 each year in a bid to grow awareness for the condition and raise money for organisations across the world. Socks represent inclusion, acceptance, and diversity within the Down syndrome community and this month crazy socks are the perfect way to support fundraising efforts.

The Sydney Swans, a proud partner of Down Syndrome NSW, will hold a training session on Tuesday March 21 with players set to wear their own crazy socks.

We invite you to do the same at your own organisation or school – or even at home with your family!

Purchase your own ‘Lots of Socks’ pair or make a tax-deductible donation here. Proceeds will go towards important work done by Down Syndrome NSW to deliver positive outcomes for the community.

This includes, prenatal and new baby packs delivered with love to all new parents, to early years playgroups, sign language skills, school support, systemic advocacy, research, parent support networks and capacity building for kids, teens and adults with Down syndrome.
