The Sydney Swans are pleased to welcome Hayley Bullas to the Harbour City after committing to the red and white during the AFLW delisted free agency period.
A veteran of 30 AFLW games, Bullas made her debut with the West Coast Eagles in 2020 following two standout seasons with Essendon in the VFLW - claiming the club's Best and Fairest Award in 2018.
Widely regarded as a fierce contested-ball winner, the 26-year-old will join an emerging midfield at the Swans that includes young star Montana Ham, new signing Lucy McEvoy, and co-captains Lauren Szigeti and Maddy Collier.
Coach Scott Gowans said Bullas will add plenty of experience and toughness to the young playing group.
"We're really excited by the addition of Hayley. She will add some grunt to the midfield, and also has an elite athletic ability which will be handy for us moving forward," Gowans said.
"As we move into our second season in the AFLW, we feel as though we have built a pretty competitive list and we will be working tirelessly to produce some strong performances in 2023."
Bullas joins a contingent of players who have signed with the Bloods for the upcoming season, including McEvoy, Chloe Molloy, Laura Gardiner, and Irish trio Paris McCarthy, Jennifer Higgins and Julie O'Sullivan.
The club have also locked in Montana Ham, Cynthia Hamilton, and Sofia Hurley on long term deals.
Preparations will now ramp up as the AFLW team set their sights on the upcoming Autumn Series, set to commence in April.
