Injury timelines confirmed for Reid, Hickey

Head of Physiotherapy and Medical Services Damian Raper and senior coach John Longmire provided an update on the injury list ahead of Round 2.

After suffering a glute injury in a pre-season game against Carlton, Sam Reid continues to have mild symptoms.

"Reid is a few weeks away from returning," Longmire said.  "We want to him to get some good training under his belt before we play him."

Star ruck Tom Hickey continues to make progress with rehabilitation and remains a few weeks away from returning to team training.

Key Quotes: John Longmire

Senior coach John Longmire spoke to journalists in a Wednesday press conference. He praised the top 22 for their work rate in Round 1 and is looking to do the same on Sunday.

“We went in with some areas we wanted to focus on against the Gold Cost Suns – they’ve played well against us the last couple of times,” Longmire said.

“We were able to execute those plans with intensity and pressure on the ball carrier which is something we like to have against any opposition.”
