Young star Isaac Heeney is confident his side is playing the right style of football to hold up in this year’s finals series.
The Swans are taking strong momentum into the finals having won 14 of their last 16 matches during the home and away season.
Ahead of Saturday’s elimination final against Essendon at the SCG Heeney took questions from fans live during a question and answer session on social media platform Facebook
The 21-year-old midfielder said the mindset was not expected to change heading into September action.
“We don’t need to change anything going into the finals because we have shown that it works,” Heeney said.
“What we have been doing with that hard and composed style of footy has been good and we are getting back to our trademark style.
“We are going in there confident against the Bombers this weekend that we can play our hard style of footy.”
Heeney said the preparation for Saturday afternoon's blockbuster had not changed despite an expected life in intensity that comes with finals footy.
“Our preparation doesn’t need to be any different because we have shown that it works over the last couple of months,” Heeney said.
“We have been playing some pretty good football so it is just about going out there and working as a team.
“We need to make sure we crack in hard and that is the way we like to go about our footy.
“It is going to be more intense and the pressure is going to be higher coming into finals but nothing changes in our preparation.”
During the chat Heeney also revealed the reason behind wearing the No. 5 jumper, who is the biggest pest at the club and his reason for cutting off his blonde locks at the start of the season.
