International stars The Killers have been confirmed as the key Grand Final entertainment, with Dami Im to perform the national anthem.
Mike Brady will again feature at the Grand Final to perform Up There Cazaly.
The Killers will play in the Virgin Australia Pre-Game Show and the Virgin Australia Premiership Party, a free concert after the game, with access available after 6PM.
Some of their biggest songs are Mr Brightside and Somebody Told Me.
They expressed their excitement in a statement.
"People of the great country of Australia – let us inject our American rock and roll tunes into your sporting event, please! AFL here we come," The Killers said.
Songs from their first album since 2012, Wonderful Wonderful, will be included in the performance.
AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan said The Killers would appeal widely to fans.
"I'm so pleased that The Killers have agreed to play on that one day in September as fans of all ages enjoy their music," McLachlan said.
Im represented Australia at Eurovision in 2016 and finished second.
"It's such an honour to be performing the national anthem at the AFL Grand Final, the biggest sporting event of the year," she said.
Last year, homegrown acts Vance Joy and The Living End performed on the biggest day in the football calendar.
