The Sydney Swans has finalised it's team for it's upcoming Round 2 clash with Hawthorn on Sunday, March 26 with Joel Amartey confirmed in the final 22.

Amartey will make his first appearance for the year, replacing forward Lance Franklin who unavailable due to suspension. Senior coach John Longmire praised his skill in the front line.

“We know he can provide a real focal point for us up forward. He’s a big lad and can get under a high ball and create some spillage which is going to be really important for us," Longmire said.

"He comes into the team this week and we’re hoping to create a real contest in our front half.”

Sydney Swans and Hawthorn are two of the youngest teams this weekend, providing a fierce match ahead. 

“It was only a couple of weeks ago that [the Hawks] played against Collingwood and had 30 scoring shots. They were only beaten by six points so we have to be mindful of what they can do," Longmire added.

"They’re young, so are we."

It's the Swans' first home game of the season after last week's season opener on the Gold Coast last week.

"It will be good to have a strong hit out here at the SCG in what we hope is a really big crowd.”

Senior Sam Reid and Tom Hickey remain out with a glute injury and calf strain respectively.
