We take a look at some of the top prospects ahead of the National Draft to be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre on November 24.

The following four youngsters are among those touted as potential first round selections.

Aaron Francis – West Adelaide / Loxton North
Height: 191cm
Weight: 81kg

With versatility like few other Aaron Francis is considered to be one of the top prospects coming out of South Australia. He is expected to be taken high up in this year’s National Draft due to his ability to play any position across the field. Francis’ aerial exploits are his biggest strength with a great athleticism and game sense for someone of his size. He is a smart decision maker with the football in hand making him a dangerous prospect setting up attack from the defensive half of the ground. He showcased his ability to play up forward in the U18 Championships booting four goals against Western Australian in an impressive performance. A standout U18 Championships earned him U18 All Australian honoured after averaging 15.7 possessions and 5.7 marks in six games for South Australia.


Aaron Francis is predicted by many experts to be a top ten pick in the National Draft.

Charlie Curnow – Torquay/Geelong Falcons
Height: 191cm
Weight: 95kg

An exciting draft prospect Charlie Curnow is a powerful tall forward/midfielder who has shown huge potential for the NAB AFL Academy and Geelong Falcons at TAC Cup level. He is extremely athletic and is strong overhead with his contested marking seen as his strongest asset. The younger brother of Carlton midfielder Ed, Curnow showed his capabilities as a forward in the final four matches of the season for the Falcons as he booted 13 goals as a marking forward. At the Draft Combine he showed he is an endurance machine running a 14.5 beep test and 10.24mins in the 3km time trial. He has plenty of upside and is seen by many as potentially a big bodied midfielder as he further develops his game.

Callum Ah Chee – South Fremantle/ Kelmscott
Height: 182cm
Weight: 71kg

There is little doubt Callum Ah Chee is among the most prodigious talents going around in the draft pool as it stands. Ah Chee’s talent will take some time to foster but it may be worth the time for an AFL club with his potential uncapped. With both blistering pace and a massive leap he is certain to be a threat playing in any forward line in the competition. The younger brother of Port Adelaide’s Brendon Ah Chee had a strong finish to his season at season level for South Fremantle after a disappointing U18 Championships for Western Australia. He is considered by many as one of the best draft prospects from the WA pool of talent.


Callum Ah Che is one of the most exciting prospects in th 2015 National Draft talent pool.

Jade Gresham – Northern Knight/South Morang
Height: 177cm
Weight: 74kg

Jade Gresham is a small midfielder/forward who possesses elite speed and power. Playing most of the season in the midfield he has an excellent ability to win his own ball around the stoppages. Gresham has shown he can push forward and impact upon the scoreboard with important goals throughout the season. Another U18 All Australian team member after an impressive Championships in which he averaged 23.2 possessions, six marks and 5.2 clearances across five games. He was an important member of the Flying Boomerangs in 2012 and won the Vic Metro MVP award this season along with the TAC Cup coaches award.
