Sydney Swans Head of Football Tom Harley has arrived at AFL House with the Club’s list management team ahead of Thursday’s 2pm trade deadline.
Read below what Harley had to say upon his arrival for the final day of trade period.
Sam Murray
“That will probably get done pretty shortly. It will involve an exchange of future picks. Sam is a Category B Rookie and expressed a desire to join Collingwood so we will work with them to get that done.”
Dan Robinson
“There is nothing to report there at this stage. Dan expressed his interest to explore his opportunities at the end of the season and we respected that. He is contracted and valuable to us so if there was to be a deal it would have to be one that works for us. It is not imminent at this stage.”
Kurt Tippett
“Kurt is staying with the Swans. He had some surgery at the beginning of the week and is resting and recovering at the moment. He will be playing with us next year.”
Any other action in trade period
“Our priority was to sign away our good young players and Sam Reid as a free agent so we did that. We knew going into this trade period that we would be pretty quiet.”
Alex Johnson
“We will have a series of meetings following the completion of the trade periods to work out what picks we have got and what needs we have. We have been open and transparent with Alex around what that looks like. He has started his preparation for the pre-season. The really positive thing about Alex was he got through the last nine games in the NEAFL so we will address that in the next week or so.”
