The Sydney Swans put on a captivating performance last Friday night when they defeated Carlton by 26 points at the SCG. Five Swans were recognised for their performances in Round 11 as part of the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award.
Both Nick Blakey and Chad Warner polled an impressive nine votes, followed by Jake Lloyd on two, and Luke Parker and Isaac Heeney with one vote each.
Blakey pulled off an impressive fourth quarter in defence finishing the match gaining 631 meters from 26 disposals.
Warner was instrumental on the scoreboard with two goals, alongside five tackles and 29 disposals. He has managed to creep back into the top 20 across the code with a total 35 votes.
The midfielder also earned the Goodes-O'Loughlin Medal for his efforts on the night which is awarded to the best on ground for the annual Marn Grook game.
The red and white secured a much-needed win heading into a mid-season bye, placing the Swans 11th on the ladder.
