Buddy #350
Thursday night will also mark Lance Franklin’s 350th career game. The two-time premiership player debuted for Hawthorn in 2005 at the SCG and after 182 games for the Hawks, signed a nine-year deal with the Sydney Swans.
Now on a one-year contract extension Franklin has praised both clubs for his success.
“I’ve always said this, but to kick the 100 goals, to kick the 1000 goals. I couldn’t have done that without the players I played with and to be at two special clubs that have been awesome on my journey,” he told Sydney Swans Media.
“I couldn’t speak more highly of both clubs.”

Key Quotes
Senior coach John Longmire spoke to the media on Wednesday (June 7) ahead of Thursday night's clash. He had nothing but praise for Lance Franklin ahead of his latest milestone.
“He’s one of the best key forwards that has played the game," Longmire told journalists.
"It’s hard to separate who is the best… in the modern era with game style the way it is, it’s so hard to kick goals and him being the absolute stand out during this period makes him quite unique."

Nick Blakey makes long-term commitment to Sydney
This week it was announced that defender Nick Blakey has committed to the Sydney Swans with a seven-year contract extension, keeping him in the red and white until at least 2031.
“I can’t see myself playing football anywhere else, so to be here for another eight years, with next year as well, is exciting. I’m very humbled that the club is signing me on for that long,” Blakey said.
Blakey joins young midfielder Angus Sheldrick who signed a two-year contract extension with the Swans earlier this season, tying him at the club until at least the end of 2025.
