There is strong Swans representation in the U18 Allies squad for the 2023 National Championships with eight QBE Sydney Swans Academy athletes included.

Holly Cooper, Emma Juneja, Olivia Morris, Gabrielle Eaton, Asha Turner Funk, Serina Baukes, Kendra Blattman and Marnie Robinson have all been selected in the 30-person squad.

As well as athlete representation, QBE Swans Academy Coach and AFLW Assistant Coach Bronwyn Gulden will serve as an assistant coach to Head Coach Jodie Clifford (Tasmanian Devils).

Included in the Swans Allies contingent are 2023 AFL Academy Girls program members Olivia Morris and Marnie Robinson who recently played for the U18 national side who played against the U23 All Stars at Marvel Stadium.

QBE Sydney Swans Academy U18 Girls Coach Nick Davis said the selection of eight of his players from this year's U18 program was just reward for the athletes and the club as a whole.

"It’s a great reward for the hard work that the girls have put in since November to be selected in the Allies team," Davis said.

"The improvement and success of the entire squad has showcased the talents of the eight girls selected. To also have Bron as an Assistant Coach will be a great opportunity to further develop our academy coaching program."

The Allies squad is made up of players and coaches from NSW/ACT, Northern Territory and Tasmania. The squad will take part in a training camp in Sydney this weekend in preparation for their first match at the Championships the following week when they take on Victoria Metro at Brighton Homes Arena on Sunday, July 2.

The Allies are also scheduled to play Queensland on Sunday, August 6 and Western Australia on Sunday, August 13.

The Championships comprise six teams, namely Queensland, South Australia, Victoria Country, Western Australia and the Allies. All teams will play three matches.
