After a thrilling two-point victory over reigning premiers Weribee last week, the Sydney Swans VFL side are back on the road this week for a clash with the Gold Coast Suns.

VFL head coach Jarrad McVeigh has locked in his team as they vie for a back-to-back win on opposition territory.

The side will lose Peter Ladhams and Ben Paton after strong individual performances last week, being elevated to the AFL for Round 7. Logan McDonald is also an out after sustaining a stress fracture in Round 4.

Despite several experienced outs, the side will retain the likes of Matty Lloyd (two goals), Ben Edwards (27 disposals), captain Nic Shipley (23 disposals) and Jack Buller Buller (three goals, 15 touches) who impressed in last week's win.

Both the Swans and Suns have recorded just one win so far this season, Gold Coast coming off a 10-goal loss to Southport.

Sunday morning's clash will serve as a curtain raiser to the main AFL clash. First bounce is from 9:25am at People First Stadium.
