Sydney Swans coach John Longmire has confirmed three changes with Sam Wicks, Corey Warner, and Joel Amartey returning for our match against Western Bulldogs on Thursday night at the SCG.
Wicks, who produced a scintillating performance in the VFL last weekend with four goals and 24 disposals against Richmond, will make a welcome return to the red and white, while Corey Warner is also coming off a starring performance with 28 disposals in a mammoth three-quarter effort.
Amartey, who missed last week's match against Richmond, will also line up amongst a forward line boasting Lance Franklin, Isaac Heeney and Tom Papley.
Meanwhile, Angus Sheldrick will be sidelined for an extended period after suffering an ankle injury, while Jake Lloyd has been ruled out after he suffered a concussion in the first quarter against Richmond.
Chad Warner has also been ruled out as he continues rehabilitation on a calf strain.
"Unfortunately, Angus Sheldrick hurt his ankle last week and it's a syndesmosis injury. He hurt it in the first quarter so he did a good job to keep playing really," Longmire said.
"He will be out for a number of weeks, so we're just working out what it means for him - it's really unfortunate.
"(Jake LLoyd) has pulled up well and he has started to do a little bit of training - he is recovering well."
The Swans are coming off a heartbreaking 13 point defeat to Richmond in Round 17, which saw the Bloods concede two goals in the final minute as their efforts were to no avail.
Although impressing in the the opening three terms, Longmire insists they need to produce a four-quarter effort if they are to withstand the Bulldogs midfield.
"We just need to play four quarters, and we have go to put the hammer down for those four quarters," Longmire said.
"In a few of our games this year, we have done a lot right but we just need to go for a bit longer and finish those games.
"That's what we will attempt to do against the Bulldogs, they're a strong in the midfield and they'll keep going so it's a great challenge for us to come out onto the SCG and have a real crack."
John Longmire, who is the Swans longest-serving coach, is set to record a huge milestone on Thursday night when he coaches his 300th game for the red and white.
