The opening day of the Sydney Swans' annual development camp saw the Club’s first- to third-year players tackle a range of activities at the Sydney Academy of Sport.
The Swans’ seven recently recruited draftees joined Sydney’s second- and third-year players at the Narrabeen venue for activities aimed primarily at galvanising the young group.
Last Monday saw the youngsters kick-start the camp with a two-hour running and skills session, before fun-filled team-building activities and a game of soccer followed.
The opening day of action rounded out with a weights session for the first-year Swans.
Development coach Jeremy Laidler said on the opening morning the camp would have a big impact upon the group.
“It’s a good way for the first- to third-year players to get to know each other, get to know us as coaches and have quality football sessions,” Laidler told SwansTV.
“We’ll do a bit of team-building stuff and just a few different things that take them out of their comfort zones.
“We’ll find out a bit about each other over the next couple of days and it’s a good way to bring in the new season ahead."
