Brett Kirk donating blood at the Lifeblood's Moore Park Donation Centre at Sydney Swans HQ.

Australian Red Cross Lifeblood is experiencing a shortage of type O blood.

The service needs an extra 500 donations of O positive and O negative blood every day for at least the next fortnight to keep up with demand.

O negative is the universal blood type and is used to treat patients whose blood type is unknown – that means it’s vital in trauma situations and needed by ambulances and rescue helicopters.

O positive is the most common blood type in the Australian community and is required by patients needing blood transfusions.

You can donate blood AND get your Swans fix by visiting Lifeblood Moore Park Donor Centre at Sydney Swans HQ, at the Royal Hall of Industries.

We even have our own Lifeblood of the Swans donation team and we would love for you to join.

Since opening in July, the Lifeblood Moore Park Donor Centre centre has already saved almost 5000 lives.
