The rebel VFLW fixture is receiving a shakeup for the 2024 season when the Sydney Swans and GWS Giants compete in part of the season. 

Each New South Wales-based club will play five matches against VFLW clubs from Round 3 to 7 of the home-and-away season. 

Kate Mahony, Executive General Manager of AFLW says the inclusion will provide important practice to the young playing side.

"We are excited to be playing five matches in the rebel VFLW competition from Rounds 3 to 7," she said.

"This gives us much needed match opportunities to continue the development of our playing group."

After missing the opening two games due to injury, Montana Ham thrived since her return and play an integral part in the Swans fairytale finals run.

Each match will be played for premiership points for the competing VFLW clubs.

Details of matches involving the Swans will be confirmed when the full rebel VFLW fixture is released.

Round 1 VFL fixture announced

Meanwhile, Round 1 fixtures for the Smithy's VFL competition have been announced. 

The Swans will take on Coburg at Tramway Oval on Sunday, March 24 at 12:05pm. Return to Moore Park after a Saturday night clash against Essendon on March 23.
