Just one day separates us from the 2024 AFL season when the Sydney Swans clash with Melbourne on Opening Night. Footy is back and so is the Official Tipping Competition of the Sydney Swans, presented by bitcoin.com.au.
Not sure where to start? Or perhaps you want an edge over your family and friends. Our five expert tippers have submitted their predictions for Opening Round with Brisbane Lions a resounding favourite alongside our very own Sydney Swans.
The Swans have a point to prove in 2024," journalist Lachlan McKirdy shared. "With former Demons Brodie Grundy and James Jordon in their side, they should have enough class and plenty of momentum in front of a sell out crowd to get the first four points of the season."
He continued, "Brisbane impressed across the trials and will have too much firepower for a Carlton side that has been impacted by a couple of injuries to start the year.
"The Tigers will beat their old coach in their first hit out with Hardwick’s Suns slowly finding their gear but not clicking until later in the season.
"And the Giants will be ones to watch this year and will make a statement with a strong performance against last year’s reigning premiers.
