Swans set for Community Camp
Sydney Swans players will travel across NSW on February 18 and 19 in the 2013 AFL Community Camp
Swans fans throughout New South Wales will have the opportunity to meet their favourite players as part of the club’s 2013 AFL Community Camp.
The entire playing list will be spreading their wings around the state on February 18 and 19 as they visit Wollongong, Bowral, Newcastle, Armidale, Forster, Gosford, Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour and areas of Sydney.
For two days, Swans players will be out in the community meeting fans at schools, clubs, hospitals and nursing homes while they’ll also run a few footy clinics.
Swans coach John Longmire said the Community Camp will be a terrific way to kick off the year.
“Next year’s Community Camp will be a great way for our players to get out into the community to meet our supporters and fans,” Longmire said.
“I know that the players always enjoy getting away for a couple of days visiting communities and breaking up pre-season training.
“The 2013 camp will be terrific for the players to get out to places that we can’t get to during the season.”
Once the full itinerary has been released, Swans fans are encouraged to make the most of the opportunity to meet the Swans, get their photo taken and grab some autographs.
Detailed itineraries and player allocations will be updated on sydneyswans.com.au closer to the date.
