Damian Truslove has named his side for a Round 13 clash with the GWS Giants bolstered by the return of two AFL-listed defenders.

Robbie Fox will join the VFL this week as he continues to recover from a shoulder injury sustained in Round 10 against Carlton. Meanwhile young defender Matt Roberts will make a return in a bid for more game time, according to senior coach John Longmire.

"We're really confident in Matty being a really good player for us in coming weeks," Longmire noted in Team Selection, presented by QBE, "We just need to get a bit more game time into him."

The VFL have enjoyed a strong mid-season outing ahead of the Sydney Derby, sneaking into the top 10 after last week's win over top-of-the-table Footscray Bulldogs.

A six-goal-to-one opening term set up the Swans fifth win of the season which they were able to sustain their lead throughout the four quarters until the final siren.

Joel Hamling and Ben Edwards were formidable in the forward line finishing the game with four and two goals respectively. Aaron Francis led the disposals with 25, closely followed Caleb Mitchell with 24.

Most notably the team will be without young up-and-comer Caiden Clearly who is set to make his AFL debut this week in Sydney Derby XXVIII. The QBE Sydney Swans Academy product was recruited to the club with pick 24 in the 2023 AFL Draft.

The team will run out against GWS at Blacktown International Sportspark on Saturday, June 22 from 11:05am. The last time the two side's met was in Round 6 at the SCG with the Swans victors by 10 points.
