Experienced forward Sam Reid is set to make his return to the action for the first time this season, named in the Sydney Swans VFL side to host Werribee at Tramway Oval this Sunday, June 30.

Sustaining an injury in the pre-season, Reid will return for a clash against the top of the table Tigers in Round 14 of the VFL competition.

VFL senior coach Damian Truslove has named a strong red and white outfit that features defenders Robbie Fox and Matt Roberts who have had plenty of senior AFL experience this season.

This will be Fox’s second week in the VFL, after returning from a shoulder injury last week and securing 15 touches and a goal. It will also be Roberts’ second game, with the young defender gathering 21 disposals and four clearances last week.

Forward Joel Hamling continues to shine in the forward line this season, with 21 goals from 10 games this season, including two majors and 14 disposals last week.

Midfielder Corey Warner (injured) and ruckman Peter Ladhams (concussion) are unavailable for this weekend’s clash.

The Swans currently sit 12th on the ladder, with five wins, five losses and a draw from their 11 games, while Werribee hold a 9-2 record.

First bounce from Tramway Oval is at 12:05pm.
