Damian Truslove and his side will travel to Queensland this weekend for a clash with a fifth-placed Brisbane Lions. The head coach has named his team with just a handful of changes.
Mid-season draftee Tom Hanily will miss Round 17 after sustaining an ankle injury during the week. He will be missed after making an impact early in his tenure with the club, most notably slotting three goals against North Melbourne last Saturday. Ben Edwards has also been sidelined due to a quad injury.
Harry Arnold will play his second match this season after returning from injury in Round 16. Arnold will come up against his old side this weekend after he was recruited to the Sydney Swans with pick five of the 2023 mid-season draft. Peter Ladhams and Angus Sheldrick have also pulled well in their first game since returning from injury, and will remain in the team this week.
Aaron Francis will be one to watch in the half forward after a team high 22 disposals, eight marks and two tackles against North Melbourne. Caiden Cleary will no doubt be hoping for a repeat performance after landing a massive 10 tackles.
The Swans will be looking to rejoin the winner's circle after a close five-point loss in Round 16. The team sit 13th on the ladder, and just two premiership points outside the top 10 with finals hopes still alive in the final four matches of the season.
The team play the Lions this Saturday, July 20 at Brighton Homes Arena. First bounce is 12:05pm. Tune in via afl.com.au or the VFL app.
