Luke Parker has received a Virgin Australia Mark of the Year nomination after Round 19 against the Brisbane Lions. In just his second game this year the hardworking midfielder was recognised for a impressive defensive grab. 

Late in the third quarter Parker took a massive one-handed intercept mark in the wing as he ran backwards with the flight of the ball. He finished the match with 16 disposals, three marks, two tackles and one goal. It comes after his return to AFL footy in Round 18 when he kicked two important goals for his side. 

Parker in his 14th season with the Sydney Swans and was sidelined prior to Round 1 of the 2024 season due to an arm injury. 

He joins Chad Warner who received a Mark of the Year nomination in Round 11 when he took a hanger against the Western Bulldogs.
