The Sydney Swans are delighted to announce Holly Cooper will remain in the red and white for another season, extending her contract until the end of 2025.

The 19-year-old was recruited to the Sydney Swans on the final day of the 2023 Expansion U18 Talent Pathway Pre-Signing Period.

The local NSW product joined the QBE Sydney Swans Academy as a 16-year-old for the winter series in 2022. After a taste of the program, Cooper worked hard to get herself into a position to pursue her dream of becoming an AFLW player.

Cooper represented the Allies at the highest level, scoring a near perfect performance at the Draft Combine, which would later earn her the call up to the senior side for the 2024 season.

Cooper has now played three games for the Swans, with senior coach Scott Gowans impressed by her performances at the top level.

“Holly worked really hard over the pre-season, she had some really good scrimmages and eventually earned her call up to play her debut AFLW game in Round 3 at Coffs Harbour,” said Gowans.

“Since then, Holly has taken the opportunity with both hands and continued to show improvement.

“She is fast, her athleticism and explosiveness with the ball makes her an exciting player to watch.

“We look forward to seeing what she can do on the field in 2024 and beyond.”
