AFLW senior coach Scott Gowans has named his side to take on Waalitj Marawar this Saturday with five changes made to the line up. The Sydney Swans will play their final match of the season at Henson Park as they look to finish the year on a high note.
Among the raft of changes is the inclusion of new recruits Holly Cooper, who returns after being managed last week, alongside young defenders Kiara Hillier and Lara Hausegger.
Speaking to Sydney Swans Media, Gowans hoped that the new-look team will take on last week's lessons from the Brisbane clash.
"We thought our ball use and our spread from contest just wasn't quite there, so we've added a little bit more speed and then just trying to, I suppose, get the ball forward and lock it in there," he shared.
"That was a key reflection from the match review. But at Henson Park, you can't beat that."
The Swans were victorious over Waalitj Marawar in Round 4 of 2023 but with a new senior coach, Gowans says West Coast could be a dangerous force on the scoreboard.
"Daisy (the new senior coach) has done a really good job with them and they're quite quick and young and strong and very similar to us," he said.
"They take the game on, so there'll be a lot of scoring. It'll be quite a good spectacle."
