Swans at Katara Cultural Village, Doha, Qatar

This week, Sydney Swans players Robbie Fox, Hayden McLean and Justin McInerney along with CEO Tom Harley, AFL assistant coaches Dean Cox and Ben Mathews, Executive GM – AFL Football Leon Cameron and a handful of Swans football and administration staff will be visiting Doha, Qatar as part of the club’s partnership with Qatar Airways.

The red and white contingent will be taking part in a Sydney Swans Study Tour, where they will experience firsthand the unique culture and world-class hospitality that Qatar has to offer.

During the five-day trip, players and staff will not only explore by connect – whether through cultural experiences, world-renowned dining, or discovering how Qatar has quickly become a premier destination for sport and sports med, which they will experience during their visit to Aspetar, Aspire and the Lusail Grand Prix Circuit.

Sydney Swans defender Robbie Fox and forward Hayden McLean were looking forward to immersing themselves in the upcoming week.

“I am keen to explore the local culture and see the sights of Doha," Fox said.

“I haven’t travelled here before but I am pretty excited for the next few days ahead and what it holds."

“I’m looking forward to spending some time in Aspetar and learning as much as we can this week," McLean said.

“It’s pretty cool to be able to prepare for the upcoming pre-season while in Doha thanks to Qatar Airways."
