Jason Kimberley is among a long line of Swans faithful. His children mark the eighth generation of Kimberley family support for the Bloods which goes back all the way to the 1870s.
Jason's father Craig Kimberley sits alongside the club’s most important figures, as the first administrator inducted into the Swans Hall of Fame and now in 2025, Jason makes his own mark in the club's records as No.1 Ticket Holder.
After being announced with the honour by Chairman Andrew Pridham on Monday evening at the 2025 Sydney Swans Guernsey Presentation Kimberley said he was surprised and thrilled by the title.
"It's a big bloody surprise to be truthful," Kimberley said.
"I am thrilled to be part of anything South/Swans/Bloods and contribute to the club in any way I can. It's proof that red and white blood cells do work together and they run well in our family genes."
Jason’s memories of his association with the Swans date back to the days of riding shotgun to his father’s presidency of the club in 1975. He describes this time as akin to Willy Wonker and Charlie running the chocolate factory.
Kimberley recalls sneaking into the changerooms at Lake Oval in Albert Park, with the help of doorman Jim Gull, the father of his favourite player, Stewart Gull.
"In life we are all a product of 'where we were when' and the things that influence our life," Kimberley said.
"Just tonight I was talking to Rick Quade and also Peter Bedford, they are guys I have known for 50 plus years and they have been a big part of my life. I am very excited about what's coming up with this team and club. We are so excited about the future."
One iconic moment Jason is linked to is from the night of Buddy's famous 1000th goal at the SCG. As fans swarmed the SCG to be part of history, Jason set up a picnic in front of the Ladies Stand.
“We’d grabbed a bottle of champagne and filled our pockets with beers and got a box of pies," Kimberley told The Australian at the time.
"Dane Rampe was the Swans captain, who I was quite friendly with and I said to him ‘Ramps come over here, have a champagne, a beer or a pie. He said I can’t have a champers but I wouldn’t mind the pie. He quickly devoured one before the ground was eventually cleared and the game resumed.”
