James Jordon is the lone Swan to be recognised in coaches votes this week after an impressive performance in Round 1 against the Brisbane Lions.
The Sydney Swans fell just short of defeating the reigning premiers on Saturday with the young midfielder shining in his tagging role on Lachie Neale. Jordon earned four votes for his efforts, keeping the on-baller and two-time Brownlow medallist to just 10 touches and two clearances.
The 24-year-old managed his own 19 disposals and seven tackles. Speaking to to SEN WA Breakfast with Simmo and Gos, senior coach Dean Cox said Jordon has become "really important" to the Swans' backline.
"The ability to get James to go to someone, whether it's during a game or whether we start with it, it's a great thing to have," Cox said.
