After a bye in Round 2, the Sydney Swans VFL side are on the road again this weekend for a clash with North Melbourne. The Swans will be in action on Sunday from 12:05pm at Arden Street Oval in Melbourne, with both sides looking to secure their first win.

Sydney will welcome back two AFL-listed players for the clash, with tall Logan McDonald and 19-year-old Patrick Snell returning after both were sidelined with injury in the pre-season.

"It'll be good to see Snelly back for his first game and also Logan, which is great for those guys," McVeigh told Sydney Swans Media.

"They've had a bit of a rough run over the pre-season with injuries, but pleasing to see them, and to have good experience coming back in.

"They'll be a little bit restricted, but nice to see those guys run around, give us some good experience and with a couple more soldiers coming back, it always helps the group."

Caiden Cleary will come out of the team as he gets an opportunity at AFL level after a dominant performance in the VFL two weeks ago.

"It's really important for us, Caden missed out for a few weeks there, but to his credit, he trained really hard, then performed probably as good as I've seen him play for a long time, which was great," McVeigh said.

"We try and give them as best opportunity as we can to play good footy so when they are called upon, they can play and they are in good form and that's great for him."

Caleb Mitchell who was named an emergency for the club's AFL clash with Fremantle will also rejoin the team, while VFL-listed athletes Ben Edwards and Thomas Hitchens are ins for Round 3.

The Swans fell to the Magpies by 25-points at Victoria Park in Round 1 and while McVeigh said at the time the team did plenty of things right, it was let down for forward entries. No doubt, a focus heading into Sunday's clash.

Meanwhile North Melbourne are coming off the back of a draw against the Casey Demons last Sunday and fell just short of the Box Hill Hawks in Round 1.
