The Swans were fastest out of the blocks at Arden Street with a five goal opening term and McDonald wasted no time in making his presence felt in the first minute with the first goal of the game, before Matt Lloyd, brother to Jake, followed suit shortly after.

North Melbourne were quick to reply with two majors of their own in quick succession, although McDonald's two goals and Ben Edwards first ensured the Swans lead at the first break.

Lloyd continued his impressive start with another two goals in the second quarter - both from classy set shots, before Caleb Mitchell got his name on the scoresheet shortly after.

However the red and white were made to rue some missed opportunities in the second term, and were unable withstand a barrage of goals from North Melbourne as they headed into the main break with a nine-point advantage.

Sheldrick, who played in the last quarter of the Swan's 65-point victory in the AFL, finished the first half as the team's leading possession winner with nine disposals, while Mitchell and Edwards also had nine to go with their respective goals.

After a solid first half, Sydney had no answers for North Melbourne after the break with the home side continuing to kick accurately and frequently, kicking seven goals to one in the second half.

Best for the Swans were Ben Paton, who had 24 disposals and kicked a major alongside skipper Nick Shipley with 23 disposals and game high 11 tackles while Caleb Mitchell was also busy with 19 disposals and a goal. Matt Lloyd and Logan McDonald finished with three goals each.

The VFL will break next week and return to action Easter weekend where the Swans will face Werribee at Blacktown on Easter Saturday.
