Jarrad McVeigh is set for a farewell match at the SCG after being named alongside superstar forward Lance Franklin to return for Sydney’s match against St Kilda on Saturday.
McVeigh and Franklin have been named to return to the side replacing James Bell and Ryan Clarke.
The former co-captain has recovered from a quad injury to take his place in the side alongside retiring teammate Kieren Jack.
“It is good to have him back in the team, he has trained all week," Longmire told QBE Team Selection.
"He trained flat out, had a really good session today so it is goo to have him back in the team."
Franklin is set for his 300-game milestone after being passed fit to take on St Kilda.
“He has had three weeks of flat out training now and has trained all this week," Longmire said.
"He is really excited about playing on the weekend and having a really strong contest."
