Sydney's star-studded rehabilitation group has lost some members, with club champion Jake Lloyd, midfielder Zak Jones and key defender Lewis Melican all impressive at Friday's training session.
All three players had surgery in the off-season and were on modified programs before the Christmas break, but Lloyd (hip), Jones (knee) and Melican (knee) performed well in warm conditions doing a mix of match simulation, running and skill drills to round off the week.
Veterans Nick Smith (hamstring) and Kieren Jack (knee) continued to train away from the main group as they recover from their own operations, but both players looked strong while completing some straight-line running, plus some longer distance work.
Swans coach John Longmire would have been buoyed by the performance of small forward Tom Papley during match simulation, with the speedster a standout while playing as a midfielder.
Papley, who has kicked 83 goals from his 60 games since he made his debut in the opening round of 2016 after coming off the rookie list, was added to Sydney's leadership group in December along with fellow youngsters Isaac Heeney and Callum Mills.
He looks set to see more time up the ground this year along with Mills, who continued to spend time with the onballers on Friday as he looks to make the transition from defence at times this season.
Young forward Will Hayward looks to have benefitted greatly from a modified training program, with the exciting goalkicker adding plenty of size to his wiry frame and moving well.
Hayward, who played every game in his second season and kicked 28 goals but managed only two from the last six matches, was on light duties before the Christmas break in a bid to lighten his workload heading into the new year.
Highly-rated draftee Nick Blakey has already shown why the Swans were ecstatic to get him as a father-son prospect at last year's NAB AFL Draft, with the teenager looking at home at the highest level.
Blakey's poise with the footy under pressure was easily noticeable on Friday in competitive drills, and he rarely wasted a disposal by hand or foot.
Oliver Florent, Jordan Dawson, Colin O'Riordan and Tom McCartin were other emerging Swans to stand out.
Superstar Lance Franklin (groin) and recruit Dan Menzel (groin), along with veteran Jarrad McVeigh (managed) and ruckman Sam Naismith (knee) were among the Swans not to be involved on Friday.
