Sydney Swans youngster Isaac Heeney is excited about what his side is building as they look to make it three wins in a row when they take on Gold Coast on Saturday afternoon.
Coming off back to back wins at home with strong performances against West Coast and Hawthorn, the Swans will be hoping for a further four points at the SCG.
Heeney said he was excited by the consistency of the side in recent weeks.
“We’ve been training really well, and we’ve been building, and it’s just been a matter of finding that four-quarter effort,” Heeney said.
“We’ve gelled really nicely, and we’ve got such a young squad that inexperience comes into it.
“But we’re riding that wave and we’ve got to ride it for a bit longer.”
Heeney said while there was still a mathematical chance of playing finals this season optimism would remain high.
“There’s that ultimate goal of playing finals footy,” he said.
“There’s still a chance that we can slip into the top eight, and we’ll keep that hope there.”
“Our percentage isn’t great so we’ll have to pick that up, but at the same time it’s week by week and just trying to get win after win.”
