Blossoming Sydney Swans defender Callum Mills has iced a stellar 2019 campaign with selection for the 22Under22 team, a side represented by this season’s best AFL players aged 22 or younger.
This is the seventh year of the concept since its inception and is the only recognised AFL award voted by the fans.
The QBE Sydney Swans Academy product averaged 18.4 disposals, 6.2 marks and 3.6 rebound 50s per match on his way to a third 22Under22 selection.
Mills is among a host of young Swans leading a new-look defensive unit, with names like Mills, Aliir Aliir, Colin O’Riordan and Lewis Melican all in the early days of their careers.
Mills was named in the 22Under22 team’s back six alongside young guns Sydney Stack, Harris Andrews (c), Alex Witherden, Jacob Weitering and Dan Houston.
HERE IT IS! The 2019 #22Under22 side, as voted by the fans. Congratulations to captain @HarrisAndrews31 and vice-captain @jdunks5. #AFLPAMVP19https://t.co/nZsF5blDHs pic.twitter.com/r2a95v7AMX
