The Sydney Swans Board, staff and players extend our deepest condolences to the family of former staff member Bridget Algreen-Ussing, who died on March 16 after a battle with melanoma.
Algreen-Ussing was part of the Sydney Swans family throughout the 2011 and 2012 seasons.
Former Swans dietitian Lorraine Cullen has paid tribute:
As part of her University degree in Sport and Exercise Science, Bridget initially undertook a seven-month internship in the nutrition department, where she played a pivotal role in supporting the NEAFL team at all their games.
Her enthusiasm and love for nutrition grew, earning her a place to further her study in Dietetics.
Bridget’s warm, gentle and hard-working nature was infectious. She was a solid part of the support team and was therefore offered a role to continue to work as part of the reserves team game day staff throughout the exciting 2012 Premiership season.
Bridget was always smiling, wore her heart on her sleeve, and was loved by her fellow colleagues. She was a beautiful soul and we were very fortunate to have her in our team for part of her precious life.
Bridget you were a shining star and we will all miss you.
1985-2019.
